Aquattack Outdoor Leadership ProgramPhoto: Loonie Springer

The objective of this program is to develop leadership, kayak and outdoor skills for West Coast Youth and to increase their local employment opportunities. This program is an exceptional opportunity for Tofino and Ucluelet youth to develop their skills. Kayak guides and outdoor leaders are in high demand for local businesses on the West Coast.
This program is recognized by the
Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of British Columbia (SKGABC) as a Day Guide Training Program. This training program includes an intense multi-day trip in the Broken Group Islands (5 days). All students will also have the opportunity to work as an apprentice with Coastal Knights Adventure Tours in Ucluelet during the following summer to further develop their skills. This program will primarily train youth with little or no kayak experience to become future kayak guides. The exam is not formally included in the program.
