Day-Guide Training Program

This program will train participants with previous kayak experience to increase their kayaking skills. This is of particular value to those wishing to go on and become certified kayak guides. Only candidates 19 years of age or older will have the opportunity to participate in the SKGABC Day Guide exam. The cost of the exam is included in the program. Successful participants will also received Paddle Canada Level 1 skills.

Program Requirements: Be at least 15 years old. Be highly motivated and mature. Fill out a waiver and a medical form.

Program Duration: The program will be held March 15-18 and October 3-6 (2008) in Ucluelet.

Job Opportunities: This program does not guarantee a job to participants. However, all students will have the opportunity to work as an apprentice with Coastal Knights Adventure Tours in Ucluelet during the summer to further develop their skills.

Program Cost: The cost for the program is $599.00

Affordable accommodation available

Immersion gear, kayak and kayak equipment are included in the cost of the program

  • all payments are non-refundable: credit will be issued towards a future booking
